GMVWA Holiday Tournament

GMVWA Holiday Tournament Seeding Criteria

An impartial committee will seed wrestlers in accordance with the criteria listed below. If credentials merit, there will be up to 8 wrestlers and 1 alternate seeded per weight class.

1. State Champ
2. State Placer
3. District Champ
4. District Placer
   • Top 6 places only
5. GMVWA Champ
6. GMVWA Placer
   • Top 6 places only
7. Sectional Champ
8. Sectional Placer
   • Must be District Qualifier – Top 4 places only
9. Last Year’s Won-Lost Winning Percentage
   • (15 match minimum – must be at least 60%)
   • Varsity records only!
     • No JV or reserve matches
   • For outstanding freshmen with qualifying credentials
     • Must have placed in the Top 3 at the Junior High State Tournament or Top 8 at National Tournament sponsored by USA Wrestling
     • Submit only their last season's Junior High record on the online entry template.  *That will get their name and school on the seed nomination list..
     • Download and complete the GMVWA Holiday Tournament “Outstanding Freshman” Seed Nomination Form.
     • E-mail the completed form to Randy Thome at Randy.Thome@pepsico.com before 1:00 PM on Monday, December 22nd...
       • Include tournament name, date, location, place, and weight
     • The committee will consider the merit and place wrestlers on the seed list equivalent to a 5th or 6th district placer.

1. The Ohio State Tournament series goes through three qualifying rounds on three consecutive weekends: Sectional, District and State.
   • If out of state qualifying tournaments are named differently, please use the appropriate Ohio categories for each round when submitting seeding data.
2. Wrestlers will be sorted and seeded by criteria only.

• Please use the Online Roster and Seed Form at www.baumspage.com to submit rosters and seed nominations!
  • All accounts from previous year are retained, but all associations with school and teams were cleared. 
    • Returning coaches should login using their e-mail address and password from last year. 
      • If you changed e-mail accounts, login with the old e-mail address first, then use • My Account • | My Tools | Update Contact Info to change it.
    • New coaches will need to Apply for a new account for the current school year!
  • For step-by-step instructions click the Help link on the Login Page and print the Online Entry Instructions for Wrestling.

  • Submit an “intended” roster early! Return anytime before deadline to make changes!
    1. Use • Coaches • | Select Teams to claim your school and team. 
       1. Highlight your team and click Get Available School Teams
       2. Click Select Sport on the dropdown and select Wrestling - HS | click Make me the Coach.
    2. Use • Coaches • | Modify Athletes to enter your athlete’s names and grades into the database.
    3. Use • Coaches • | Submit Rosters to enter wrestlers into their weight classes
    4. Click Submit Rosters to submit your tournament entry form.
    5. Click Get Printable Roster to print a copy for your records.
  • You may make changes to your line-up when you check-in.
  • Check all data carefully!  It will import "as is" into the tournament computer program!
  • Enter one wrestler per weight. Leave criteria blank if not up for seed.
  • To nominate for a seed: Enter tournament criteria, and record as applicable.
  • If you have problems with the Online Entry Form, click the Contact Us link first.

  • Barring unforeseen difficulties, seed nominations will be posted on the web by 4:00 PM the day before the tournament.
